Isa Love : Dharma Master
Isa Love trained in Kundalini Yoga and Tantra with Yogi Bhajan for 12 years, 1971-1983. Concurrently, Isa studied with Murshid Samuel Lewis’ Sufi community in San Francisco and was later invited by Pir Valayat Inayat Khan (son of Hazrat Inayat Khan) to teach at Chögyam Trungpa’s Naropa Institute in Boulder, CO. During this time he formed the Sufi Order of Colorado.
In 1974 Isa formed the yoga school Circle of Friends (now called New Being Project). And a year later, in 1975, he met his Sufi initiator Sheikh Hassan of Palestine. After that, he had a series of meetings and experiences with a variety of spiritual masters.
In 1982 he met the Venerable Il Bung Seo of South Korea from whom he received his Dharma Master (Bopsa) initiation. Around the same time Swami Shambhavanada of Boulder introduced him to Swami Rudrananda’s teachings and his primary exercise (Rudra Meditation) as well as introduced him to a host of Buddhist masters from Tibet. Amongst them, he met Namkhai Norbu of Tibet, the Venerable Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche of Bhutan, and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche of the Bön tradition, initiating him in the Tantric and Dzogchen Buddhist traditions.
These teachers and many others brought to him a special gift that helped him develop into the unique spiritual teacher that he is today. Isa’s discipline is yoga; his heart is Sufi. All traditions and ways of Truth are magnetized to and embraced by him.
